Golden Oldies!

TGIF!

Today I am sharing with you my card using the super cute Birthday Couple (Sku#1920) image! They remind me so much of my Grandparents! The gentleman looks like he is a real prankster and my Grandpa was just like that with his "dry" sense of humour!

What makes me laugh the hardest is the sentiment "Teeth Flew Out (Sku#1936) that I used on the inside! My Grandpa had false teeth and as a child I remember seeing them sitting in a cup of water and was just amazed that He could take out his teeth!

  • flip the card over and stamp the remaining images onto the left and right sides closer to the bottom of the card
  • colour as desired
  • Cut around the images on each side and fold into the centre of the card
  • tie closed with string or ribbon if desired

Help I've Fallen!

Happy Hump Day!

This was a card I made for my friends Dad. He needed a card as a joke for a friend that had fallen down and hurt her arm. I didn't have any images of that, so online I went and put it out to a Facebook group I follow. This is one of the images my FB friends suggested. It is from Make It Crafty and is called Falling Alice

This is one of the few times I have used a digital stamp and I must say it was pretty easy to do! Once I downloaded the digital image I opened it up in word and added the file. You can size it to whatever size you like. I then printed it out onto Copic X-Press It paper and let it dry for a bit. Then you just design and colour as you usually would! I printed a sentiment inside with my printer as well, saying what Mr. H. wanted. It's personal so I won't post it here. He was thrilled with how it turned out! Whew!! It's always nerve wracking to make a "request".

Wishing For Spring!

I don't know about you....but I am tired of Winter and these freezing temperatures! We have had -20 to -30 temperatures this past week and that's way too cold for me! When I made this card I was thinking of spring! I am using the adorable Ally Rose from High Hopes Stamps. I have her sitting on a fence from Magnolia Stamps (discontinued), but High Hopes also has a Farm Fence stamp that would work just as well!

I stamped my image onto Copic friendly paper using Memento Tuxedo ink. To make Ally "sit" on the fence, I first stamped her image onto a piece of post it note paper and fussy cut around her. Then after stamping her onto the Copic paper I placed the post it note on top. I took the fence stamp, lined it up to where Ally's bottom would be  and stamped it over the post it note. Then when you remove the paper it looks like Ally Rose is sitting on the fence. This technique is called "masking". After colouring the image with my Copic Sketch markers, I cut her out in a circle. This card has lots of layers and die cut shapes. I used a small punch from the Dollar Store to punch out a few butterflies. Of course I added clear Wink of Stella to all parts pink and onto the tiny butterflies!
