I'm on A Roll!

I'm on a roll getting caught up with all my posts while we relax at the cottage for the long weekend! Here's another card for you to see. I made this one for my Uncle who is turning 75. I've said it before but I always find it hard to make cards for men. I think this one turned out ok. I was trying to go with the theme "you're a classic"by using paper with vintage camera's on it and the old movie theme with the filmstrip and tickets.

Supplies used:
  • Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pad: "Mama Razzi2"
  • My Favorite Things:
    •  Die-namics and stamp set "At the Movies"
    •  Big Birthday Numbers Stamp set"by A la Mode
    • Die-namics Mini Film Strip
    • Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layer Stax
  • button, twine & card stock from my stash
  • Basic Grey Candy Dots in Metallics
Well lunch time again, cold meats, cheese, crackers and fresh bread! Who could ask for anything better?!

Another couple cards for you to view

Oh my….. I am sitting down by the water at my Parent's cottage! It is absolutely beautiful and the weather today couldn't get any better! The guys just got the "big boat" in the water and got everything tuned up and running smoothly. Now they are out for a ride in the "old but new to my dad" cedar strip canoe. He refinished it and this is the maiden voyage lol. It's leaking a bit but I think they will soon fix that up!

This is the card I gave to my Dad for Father's Day. I fell in love with this image and it's the first time I tried using a digital image and it worked out fine. I got the image from Mo Manning's digital pencil,  her designs are always so cute. I printed it out on copic paper and let it dry really well. I was worried the copic markers might run out of the lines as I was always told to only use Memento Ink. It worked absolutely fine and I now will have a new addiction…..digital stamps LOL.

I'd like to think I am getting better at shading with my markers….what do you think?

Once again I try to add some fun elements to the inside of the card as well.

Here is a card I made for friends that just welcomed a new baby boy into their lives. It is similar to the last one I made. I just love the C.C. Designs baby boy stamp and to be honest is the only baby boy stamp I have right now.

Well it's noon and that means lunch time according to my Dad. He is all about his meals….. he always says as long as it's hot, lots of it and on time no one will get hurt. LOL, so off we all go up to the cottage to make our lunch! Have a great long weekend!

Wow where does the time go?

It's been forever since I posted anything. I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. I've been busy with getting the pool opened, cleaning up  my gardens, and we took a trip to Washington D.C. with my parents. I am still making cards though just haven't had a chance until now to get them uploaded. I made 2 beautiful Mother's Day cards and forgot to take a picture of them LOL. But my nephew & sister both had birthdays as well as my Mom-in-law so I do have pictures of those.
Here they are……

This was for my nephew Cameron who turned 13 on June 5th and loves to play basketball.
He said to tell you his feet aren't that big LOL.

Now here is My sister's card, she likes to remind me that she is much younger than me…..(only 3 years and when you are little that is a lot, but not so much when you get to be my age Hee Hee!!).  I love this image, I think she is adorable!

I actually used some of the paper I got in my Simon Says Stamp June card kit from My Mind's Eye called, Now & Then Mildred. I used Glossy accents on the balloon and the girl's glasses.

Of course I used Copic makers, my favourite thing to colour with to make this sweet girl come alive. I like to ink the edges of my paper with Distress ink, and added some bling with Stickles.

I always like to try to finish the inside of cards, and with this one I also stamped a light image of the birthday girl in the corner.

Here's a cute Uptown girl image from Stampin' Bella that I used for my Mom-in-law. I finally got to use the die-namics Floral Fusion cover up die that I purchased a while ago and some paper from the Bo Bunny Primrose collection.

I coloured her with my copies, paper pieced her dress
and added stickles to the icing layers on her cake.

I had a set of Bo Bunny Primrose Note-worthy die cuts
and they matched perfectly for the inside of the card.

I have a few more cards to show you but I will save that for my next post. Hope life has been treating you all well and that you are enjoying the summer weather.

My Dad's Birthday Card

My Dad's Birthday was May 6th and here is the card I created for him this year!

I like the way it turned out! Although it's not very "manly" it is cute and I love the colour combinations. I chose paper from the Authentique "Curiosity" Collection.

Of course I used my favourite medium…..Copic Sketch markers to colour the image. I used Crystal Stickles to add some bling to the balloon, party hat and present. I also used Glossy Accents on the Elephant's toes.

I used distress ink in Peacock on all the edges of the paper to make it pop a bit.

I stamped, coloured and cut out an extra party hat and present to add dimension to the card. My Dad loved the card and now he'll have to wait another year for the next creation from his darling daughter LOL.

I want to wish all the Mom's a Happy Mother's Day today! I made a cute card for my Mom and Mom-in-law but stupid me didn't remember to take a picture of it so I can't show you my card design. Oh well I have a couple more cards I need to make this week so stay tuned for more from me.

I'm Back!!

Wow it's been a month since I've posted anything! I'm not sure where the time went. We went on a fabulous vacation for a week to Antigua to celebrate our 10th Anniversary. We stayed at the Galley Bay Resort and Spa and had an absolutely awesome time. The resort was beautiful and the staff so friendly and helpful!

We had a deluxe beachfront room, a first for us. This was the view from our room out the back door. Steps to our chairs and the warm ocean! It was paradise!

This is by the main restaurant called Sea Grape. All the meals are 5 courses and presented beautifully! The best part is that it's open air and you are literally steps from the ocean! A beautiful setting!

Galley Bay is a small resort of only 96 rooms. there are 2 ground floor and 2 upper floor rooms in each small building. The grounds are beautiful and everything is clean!

We had the most beautiful sunsets to watch every night! I couldn't have asked for more on this vacation! It met all our expectations, dreams and wishes

It sure was hard to come home and back to this awful weather. Also during April I wasn't feeling well and was just diagnosed with Vertigo so I wasn't really doing anything but laying on the couch! I feel a lot better now and am hopefully back to spending time in my craft room which I missed doing! I hope all of you are doing well! I have a card to share with you tomorrow that I made for my Dad's birthday.
So that's all for now, chat at you later!

Paper Bunnies

I got an email from Weekly Scraper and in it, there were instructions to make these cute paper bunnies so I decided to give it a try.

Click for a link to the Paper Bunnies instructions on Weekly Scrapper

I decorated mine a bit different and I used Rice to fill the bunnies. I also added a small cotton ball tail on the back of the bunny. I think they are adorable!

Last of the Easter Cards

Today I finished the last of the Easter cards that I need for Family and Friends! Now to get them signed, addressed and in the mail!

We had a great weekend! Our Guelph Storm has made it into the second round of the OHL playoffs. We had the first 2 games against the London Knights Friday and Saturday. We won Friday 6-4 but lost Saturday 2-7. Time to regroup and kick some butt in London on Tuesday and Wednesday! GO STORM GO! We also had an overnight visit from my daughter Taylor which is always great. I love seeing her and spending some quality time with her. It's raining here yuck, but hopefully it will melt the rest of the snow!
Stay dry and I'll chat at you later,

Another Easter Card

After finishing the Easter cards for my Hubby, I had a few Copic coloured Tilda images left. I decided to make a few more cards for family & friends. The first card I am going to show you fits into a few Card Challenges, so I'll be entering it into them. Check out the links to their sites and see all the beautiful cards entered into their challenges.

I am entering this card into:

Once again I used paper from the Bo Bunny Primrose line. It's my favourite go to paper right now. I inked all my edges using Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo. I made the roses myself from MFT die-namics Mini Rolled Roses die and added a coloured pearl to the middle of each one. I layered 2 green Die-namics "Leaf Filled Flourishs" on top of a Bo Bunny Dollie and then added some pink "Macarena Corner" die cuts from Memory Box. I added the roses and then using 3 shades of green, I  cut out leaves using Martha Stewart's "Frond" punch and added them to the roses. I put a Die-namics "Vintage Flourish" die cut on the top and bottom of my stamped image. Using Crystal Stickles I added some glitter to Tilda's hat and the bunny tail. I added some pearls from my stash, a small sentiment, decorated the inside and voila the card was done.

Here's a couple more I made using the same Magnolia image!

Hope you are enjoying the spring weather we are finally getting! Now if all the piles of snow would just finally melt it would feel like spring!

Whew, Finally Finished!

Today I finally finished the 75 cards that I was working on for Easter that my Husband will send out to his clients. He personally signs each one so that's his job this week in the evening after supper. A shout out to my Mom for coming over on Friday and helping "glue" things together. Thanks Mom!

As you can see I've used the same Magnolia stamp "Tilda and Her Bunny" that I've used in an earlier post, as well as paper from the Bo Bunny line called Primrose. They are my go to choices it seems for this Easter! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
