Ai New Release Water Color Mini's

Hi Everyone!

Today is a new release day over at Art Impressions of the Water Color Mini's. This is a first for me.....water colouring and let me tell you it was way out of my comfort zone LOL. After many attempts and a garbage can full of crumpled paper this is the final image I came up with.  I am using the new stamp set called "Spring Basket".

I don't own any water color markers so I used Tim Holtz Distress ink and water. I stamped the basket and using a tiny bit of water, spread the ink around. Then I masked off the basket with a post it note and added the leaves and branches. Once again a bit of water on my brush and I spread the ink around again.

It's hard to see but the background is a very light blue. For this, before I started stamping my image I used a pan pastel and lightly added it to my water colour paper to make it look like sky. Then I sprayed some pastel fixative over top and let it dry before I started water colouring.

I left a sentiment off the inside of my card so you can use it for any occasion!

I'm not sure I'm in love with water colour painting but maybe with more practice I will come to love it!

I almost forgot.... Today also starts a new challenge called "April showers/ May flowers".

Head on over to the Ai Blog and see what the other DT members did and link your entry!

Teddy's Family!

Hello all!

April showers bring May flowers and this bear family looks like they are in the midst of a downpour LOL! Of course like any child the little bear would rather play in the puddles. Still they look so cute all cuddled together trying to stay dry. For this card I used the image called "Teddy's Family" from High Hopes Stamps.

I stamped the image with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured the bears and puddle with my Copic Sketch Markers. I used coordinating  paper from the MME Quite Contrary "Jack and Jill" collection.  I paper pieced the Mommy bear and the umbrella with matching paper from it. The rain drops are enhanced with Liquid Pearls in Baby Blue. I added some twine and enamel dots as embellishments. The puddle has some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen for a bit of added sparkle!

The sentiment inside is called "Play in Puddles" also by High Hopes Stamps.

Copics used:
 Bears: E11, E13, E15 nose-T7
tongue & ears: R20, R27
Bow: Y21, Y26
Umbrella pole: T3
Water: BG000, BG01

There is still time to play along in our current Challenge "Anything Goes". You have until April 30th to join in on the fun! Just remember to use a High Hopes Stamp or our free digi.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Ava Loves To Celebrate!

Hi everyone!

The weekend is here so that means it's time for my OCS blog post! Today I am sharing with you a birthday card I designed. Stamping Bella is another one of my favourite Stamp companies! I love any and all of the Uptown Girls and "Ava Loves To Celebrate" is no exception! I think Ava was one of the first Uptown Girls stamps that I purchased and I have used her many times! Lora carries a lot of Stamping Bella stamps in the OCS online store.

I stamped Ava on Copic friendly paper and coloured her with my Copic Sketch markers. I cut 2 stitched borders and added then to the sides of my layered image. This time paper from Echo Park's Jack and Jill Girl Collection was my choice. I tied some ribbon on the middle of the card and added a bow with a paper rose in the middle. Glitter is a must for Ava and I used clear glitter Wink of Stella on the yellow icing, roses and the bow on the presents.

On the inside I used a sentiment stamp from my "stash" and lightly stamped part of Ava with Memento ink in Angel Pink in the bottom corner.

I also used a concave corner punch on the paper on the inside to add a bit of interest to the sentiment.

Copics used:
Skin: E00, E11, R20
Hair: E31, E33, E35
Dress, shoes & present: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
Cake: Y21, Y26, R11, R22, BG10
Presents: Y21, Y26, BG11, BG13, BG15, R20, R21, R22
Bow, roses and ruffle: R20, R21, R22, R24
Ground/ shadow: W0, W1, BG000

Thanks for stoping by today and don't forget to play along in April's Challenge "Anything Goes" over on the OCS Blog!

Quick and Easy!

Howdy!
Sometimes you just need a quick and easy way to whip up a card. The Ai Pop Ups are the perfect choice! This set is called "Deco Set 1"and comes with 2 designs with 4 sheets per pack. Both sets are from the "Girlfriend" collections, "Beauty In Progress" and "At The Movies".

What I love is the quick way you can make a card. All you have to do is punch out the images and layer them with foam squares or dots onto your card. Instructions are included in the package and each image is numbered in the order you are to layer them. What is simpler than that? The price is right at $7.35(USD) especially when you can make four projects with the set!

Don't forget to enter in our current Challenge "Make Me Smile" and check out the online store!
