New Fun Technique!

Hello!
Oh my gosh!!! I had so much fun trying this new background technique I learned watching Jennifer McGuire's video! It's crazy easy and fun at the same time!
Here's the easy steps to create this background technique!

  1. Spread ink on your paper (I used Distress Oxide) either with a blender or directly ink to paper
  2. Pick a stencil you like
  3. Use your die cutting machine and an embossing mat (check plate "sandwich" layer instructions for embossing with your machine)
  4. Lay your ink paper down, put the stencil on top, next a bay wipe
  5. Run slowly through your machine
  6. Remove plate sandwich and view your background
  7. Let it dry completely
See I told you it was super easy and so fun when you take the layers apart and see the finished result. Just imagine all the possibilities!

On this example I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and a Peacock Feather Stencilby Kite. I think this one is my favourite (and not just because I love Peacocks LOL)! Then I just added some enamel dots and a white die cut "Smile".
This card uses The Crafter's Workshop "Mini Ring Doily" and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink. I added purple sequins and a "hello" die cut from Spellbinders.
I used the Mini Wildflowers Stencil from The Crafters Workshop for a different look. This example uses an ink blended background of Distress Oxide inks in Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade. I stamped the "You Are" and "a good friend" with embossing ink and heat set it in Black Embossing Powder. Some clear gems finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I really hope you will try this technique. I had so much fun trying this and I know you will too!

Happy Birthday!

Hi All!
I was looking through my stash of cards and noticed I'm a bit low on Birthday cards! So of course I had to dig out one of my favourite stamps from Art Impressions. I absolutely adore this old couple! Unfortunately they are no longer available and have been retired but I thought they were too cute not to share!
I stamped and coloured the images with my Copic Sketch markers in colours for male and a female birthday. I used papers from the Echo Park Happy Birthday "Boy" & "Girl" 6x6 collections. I cut my stamped image out with a MFT Zig Zag Stitched Oval die and then coloured them with my Copic Sketch markers. I inked the edges of my papers for added dimension with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The oval die cut images are popped up with some foam squares for added interest. A few enamel dots in the corners finish off my cards.
This retired Art Impression sentiment just cracks me up and goes perfect with the image.

Carpenter Steve!

Hi!
Father's Day is coming up soon, so I made these adorable cards to celebrate the Fathers in our lives! I am using the High Hopes Stamp image called "Carpenter Steve". My Dad is quite the Handyman and built his own Cottage when we were growing up. I can always count on Dad to come to rescue to help fix anything! Carpenter Steve is perfect for his card!
I am using the High Hopes Sentiment called "Dot Happy Father's Day" on the front of my card. I left the inside blank so that I can write a note to Dad!
The papers on this card are from the Honey Bee Great Outdoors 6x6 collection. I added some red twine and MFT Tool Charms. Some nice red enamel dots finish off this card.
This card is asimple design just using cardstock layers along with plaid paper from the PhotoPlay Mad 4 Plaid 6x collection.

Ink Blending Fun!

Hi!
I've been having some fun making ink blended backgrounds using Distress Oxide Inks. They are so fun to play with and blend together so easily!
I've been trying to use things I haven't used before from my stash (hoard) and found this beautiful My Favourite Things 6x6" background stamp called "BG Floral Fantasy Background" (retired). I stamped it with embossing ink and then used some Altenew Crystal Clear Crisp Embossing Powder. Once it was heat set, I blended Distress Oxide Ink in Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet to create a coloured background.
I cut the background into a 3x5 piece to create this card. I am also using a Impression Obsession Greetings Top Edger "Thinking of You" die. This is an A2 card size and I created my own card base using purple cardstock. A few purple gems finish off my card.
On this card I used the leftover inked background and the Penny Black "Wavy Stitched Edges" die. This die cuts your image in half, which was perfect! this way I could use a piece of it on the top and bottom. I used a Polka Dot Embossing folder and glued the ink background pieces on top. I added the Pretty ink Posh "Hummingbird Thanks" cuties for some interest.

I was able to make these 2 cards from one 6x6 stamped background! How fun to get 2 for 1!!

Swinging By!

Hello!
I'm "swinging by with a hi" today using the My Favourite Things stamp set called "Start Each Day With A Whee". The "Pure Innocence" line is so cute and easy to colour!
I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then using my Copic Markers coloured her in. Next, using the matching "Start Each Day With A Whee" coordinating metal die, I cut the image out. I decided to make a sky background and using the Hefty Doodle Cloud Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar. I love how it turned out, very soft and pretty. I used a soft pink paper from the Kaisercraft "Breathe" collection, dies from Poppy Stamps for the clouds and Craftin' Desert Divas for the fence to create a soft background to match the soft clouds. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set onto the clouds. Some white gel pen polka dots added a bit of fun to my card.
The sentiment on the inside of the card also comes with the "Start Each Day With A Whee" set.
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair: E37, YR14, YR27
Top: RV32, RV34, white gel pen
Bottoms: BG01, BG02, BG05
Swing: E31, E33, E35, E37, T4

Walkabout Wally!

Happy Tuesday!
Meet your Jungle Guide "Walkabout Wally" from High Hopes Stamps. Wally is ready to take us on an adventure through the jungle! Now if only they would lift the "isolation ban" lol. Wally is all ready with his binoculars and walking stick! This cutie would be the perfect guide don't you think?!
I started my card by stamping the High Hopes "Jungle Background"and "Walkabout Wally" onto some Copic friendly paper. Using my Copic Sketch Markers I coloured my images. Next I cut out the Jungle Background with a Stitched Rectangle Die, and used my Brother Cut N Scan to cut out Wally. I decided to use papers from the Doodlebug "At the Zoo" 6x6 collection. I added the HH "Jungle Out There" sentiment in the top right of the card. I decided to pop up Wally with some foam squares for a bit of added dimension. A bit of twine and a bow finish off my card.
I decided the decorate the inside of my 6x6" card.

Beary Special!

Welcome!
I'm so happy you stopped by today to see these "beary" adorable cards! This image from "Your Next Stamp called "Fairy Bear" is just too cute if you ask me!
I started by stamping the image and sentiment onto some Copic friendly paper and then cut it out using my MFT Zig Zag Square dies. Next using my Copic Markers I coloured this cuties in. I decided on papers from the Doodlebug So Punny 6x6 collection and went about creating some fun layers. You can't tell in the photos but on both their wings I added some Clear Glitter Pen for a bit of sparkle.
I love the little fancy doily dies on these cards.
I have a confession...... Originally I coloured this bear and then taking Copic Blending Solution and a rag I tried to make him look like he had fur. It was a total fail lol. So rather than throw him out I tried added tiny dots with a white and black gel pen to create texture. I am happy with how he turned out.
On the decorated insides I used a sentiment from YNS called "Sweet Hello". I have had this stamp for years. It was a purple rubber which YNS doesn't use anymore and I think this sentiment is retired.
Copics Used:
Flowers & Leaves: RV17, RV55, Y35, YG17
Ground and Outline: W1, W2/ B0000, B 000
Brown Bear Card:

Star Flower!

Howdy!
While digging through my stash of stamps, I found this "Star Flower" 6x6 stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I have to tell you it's been fun looking through my stash and finding things I forgot I had. It certainly helps get the creative juices flowing!
I decided to stamp the "Star Flower" with embossing ink and then add white embossing power to it.  Once it was heated with my heat gun and the powder melted, I went about making an ink blended background. I used Distress Oxide Inks in the colors: Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberries and Wilted Violet.
Because the "Star Flower" stamp is 6x6", I was able to cut it in half to make 2 cards. I decided to use my scissors and sort of fussy cut around the image to add a "shape" to it. The Tailored Expressions "Simple Strips Background" stamp is perfect to make small sized banners for your cards. It has 18 sentiments you can stamp all at once and then cut out with the matching die . So handy to make a bunch of strips for future use!
Both of my cards have Studio Katia "Crystal Rainbow Confetti" adhered to them for a bit of bling!
The background papers I used today are from the Sunny Studios "Flirty Flowers" 6x6 collection.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today!

Wonderful Adventures!

Hello!

It's Tuesday so that means I'm back with a post for High Hopes Stamps! Let me introduce you to the adorable "Sheila"! Sheila's all ready to go on a wonderful adventure. She has her camera and walking stick, so I picture her going on a nature walk! Hopefully soon the Parks will reopen and we can all get out and go on a wonderful adventure just like Sheila.
My design today is a clean and simple one. To start I cut out the white paper with a fancy die and then stamped the "Rocks" and "Wonderful Adventures" sentiment from High Hopes Stamps onto it. I stamped the "Rocks" again onto some masking paper, fussy cut it and placed it over top of my stamped image. I used the MFT Mini Cloud Stencil and some Seaglass Ink to create the soft background. After colouring Sheila with my Copic Markers, I cut her out using my Brother Cut N Scan machine. Some foam dots popped her up for added dimension. A bit of striped paper and some enamel dots finish everything off.
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E21, E11, R20
Hair Y21, E31, E33
Outfit: R37, R59, R89/ B34. B37, B39

Coffee, Coffee and More Coffee!

Happy Sunday!
For todays card, I dug out my Simon Says Stamp "Mod Flower Background" 6x6 stamp. I decided to use it in two ways today. I started by stamping the image onto a heart shaped cut out and embossed it with white embossing powder.
On one of the heats I did an ink Blended background using Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry. On the second heart I used my Tombow markers (725, 606, 126, 58, 75) and a water brush to colour in the embossed images. Two totally different looks using the same image!
Next I got out this adorable dinosaur from Gerda Steiner Designs called "Coffeesaurus" and went about colouring him to match my backgrounds.
Both of these cards have polka dot paper from my stash. The sentiments come in the "Coffeesaurus" set and are so cute! I added some black marker around the sentiments to make them stand out a bit.
To add some texture to the dinosaurs, after i had finished colouring them I took a Copic 0 marker and added little dots. The Copic solution washes out the colour and sort of makes it look like dinosaur skin. I added a few white gel pen dots to the purple guy.
Copics Used:
Purple Dino: V04, V05, V06, W3, C1
Green Dino: YG17, YG23, YG25, W3, C1
Coffee Cups: C1, E31, BG05 or RV06

Thinking of You!

Hello!!
Ok...... so with all this self isolation, I've had lots of time to get busy in my Craft room! I've been digging through my stash and seeing what I haven't used ever, or in a very long time. It's amazing what you find when you start digging LOL. My stamps today are from Magnolia. Magnolia images were some of my very first purchases and at that time I put them away without adding their "names". I hadn't even thought about Blogging at that time and that I might need to know what each stamp was, oops!
My papers today are from the Doodlebug "Love Notes" 6x6 collection. I stamped this cute Tilda and then masked her off with masking paper. Then I stamped the Bench over top so it looks like she is sitting on it. The sentiment is from the SSS Sentiment Strips and I cut it out with a tiny flag banner die. The petticoat on Tilda has some Stickles added for a bit of bling!
So....... in my hunt, I found this Lawn Fawn Die called "Mini Pop-Up Box" and these tiny Magnolia images. A light bulb went off in my head LOL. I added the box with the images to the inside of my card for a special surprise!
Cute or what! I love that the box folds flat inside the card so it still fits in a regular A2 envelope!

I'm so glad you stopped by today!
Happy Stamping!
