Art Impressions WTW Release and Tutorial!

Hello Ai Fans!
Today starts the New Release of the "Windows To The World" and Challenge "Add Embellishments"! I am using the new "Succulents Window". There are so many ways you can use these adorable little Window To The World stamps. I am choosing to put mine on an Easel Card using the Ai "Scallop Easel Die".
Ok..... Let's get started!!
To start, I gathered up my supplies then went ahead and stamped my image using Stazon Ink on Watercolour Paper.
I have to admit, I'm new to using these pens. I added a bit of the colour to the image and then using a water brush painted the colour around.
After I had my entire image coloured, I went ahead and did my die cutting. Using the Art Impressions "Square Double Stitched Dies", I cut out my image and also cut out a frame for my window. I cut two of the "Scallop Easel Dies".
You need to make a small cut on each of the tabs from the edge to the long perforated edge (halfway in).
The next step is to glue the 2 pieces together making sure to ling up the scalloped edges.
Now glue the two edge pieces to the centre of the card base. As you can see I tend to get a bit heavy with the glue LOL.
Now glue the triangle pieces together, this forms the stand part of your easel card. After that is dry you push the tabs down to give the stand stability. You can also glue the tabs together as well.
Kate has an awesome video showing how to put everything together. You can find it here.
I decided to add a piece of Designer Paper and coordinating cardstock to my card base. I just used the Easel die and cut the paper to add it. I added foam tape to my window frame to give it a bit of dimension on my card.
I glued my image inside the window. Now to the fun part...... embellishing my card. I added some matching sequins and cut out some of the cactus from my Designer paper.
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens Used:
Turquoise Green, Deep Green
Light Green, Pale Green
Wine Red, Carmine Red
Lemon Yellow, Bright Yellow
Light Brown
I must say it was fun colouring with this medium and will definitely be using it again soon!

Double the Fun!

Hello HH & OCS Fans!
I was looking through my High Hopes Stamps and trying to figure out how I could use them differently. When I saw the "Baby Giraffe" the whole "twin" idea came to mind.
I stamped one giraffe and then masked her off and added the second image. I coloured my "Baby Giraffe's" to match my Designer Papers. I added some matching twine, bows and each giraffe has some glitter pen on their noses and feet.
I fussy cut out my images and popped them up with foam squares for dimension!
I used some of the paper scraps to decorate the inside and added the "Ten Little Phrase" on the inside!

Annie's Bushel!

Hi HH & OCS Friends!
This past weekend I attended an Apple & Cheese Festival in a small town close to me! There were all kinds of things "apple", lots of crafts and things for the kids to do. As we were driving there I saw some beautiful orchards and the trees were full of apples. There were workers in the fields picking the apples. It reminded me of the High Hopes "Annie's Bushel" stamp and I thought it would be perfect for my post today!
I chose paper from the Echo Park  "Autumn Blessings" collection.  I added some coordinating ribbon, bow and glitter pen to the red areas to finish off my card. I used the High Hopes sentiment called "If Friends Were Apples".

New Challenge over at DDS!

Hello!
Happy October first everyone!! Since it's the first of the month, that means a new Challenge has started over on the Digi Doodle Studios Challenge Blog. The theme this month is "Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness or Halloween". I decided to use the Halloween theme for my Challenge card.
I chose the Digi Doodle Studios "Jazzy Jette & Crew" digital stamp to use on this fun card. First I printed my image on my computer and then coloured it with my Copic Sketch Markers. Then I die cut out my image and created my layered background. I am using papers form the DDS "Frightfully Delightful" digital paper collection.
I added some flowers and sprigs in black in orange to match my card theme. A fun Halloween button was added to complete my design. I'll let you in on a little secret. I didn't have a black flower but I had 2 of the orange ones. All I did was take a black marker and colour the flower. Your copics have many uses lol!

Love!

Happy Friday Ai Fans!
Yah it's Friday!! Not only does Friday mean the weekends here but it also means it's my turn to share a card with you! I've decided to use the Art Impressions "Mouse Slider set"!
I always love the "Slider Sets" as they make such a fun and interactive card! You do need to purchase the Ai "Slider Die" though as it makes it so easy to make the frame for the slider component.
I love how this little cute girl mouse runs and hugs her guy!! That's just too sweet!
Here I wanted to show you that you don't have to use the "Mouse Slider set" as a "slider" card. You can simply just use the images on your card as well. The set comes with the images and dies to make your card with.
Copics Used:
Mice: E11, E13, E15, R20

I decided to use a "pane die" for my cuties today and added the HH "Take Flight" sentiment on the one side! I popped up each image with some foam squares for added dimension. A few enamel dots finish it off.

SSS Stamptember and Art Impressions!

Hi SSS and Ai Fans!
How exciting..... its that time of year again for SSS Stamptember! Once again SSS and Ai are collaborating together for an exclusive Girlfriend stamp set called "Pumpkin Spice ".

I kind of went out of my comfort zone by not using any patterned paper today. I started by using a background stamp with some embossing ink and SSS White embossing powder. Then using Tim Holtz distress inks I blended my Fall colour theme onto the water-colour paper. The white embossed background stamp pops out of the ink colours!
I coloured my image using my Copic Sketch Markers and then fussy cut it with my Brother Cut N Scan machine. I popped the girls up with some foam tape for added dimension! A few enamel dots and Crystal Stickles on the coffee cup finish off my design!
I used the sentiment on the inside with some more ink blending.
Copics Used:
E00, E11, E21, E31, E33, E40, E43, E44, E47, E50, E51, E53
R39, R56, R89
Y23, Y26, Y32
N5, N7, N9
YG93, YG97
YR04, YR07, YR09

I hope you love the exclusive Girlfriend set featuring two girlfriends enjoying their favourite Fall drinks! Hurry though this is a limited edition stamp set and once they're gone, they're gone! Don't forget to head on over to the Simon Says Stamp Blog and be inspired, see new limited stamps sets, find links to designers and of course grab this set for yourself!

Halloween!

Hello Ai Fans!
It's Friday so that means it's my turn to share some Art Impressions inspiration! I am using one of the stamps from the "Halloween Magic" set.
I stamped and coloured my image to match the papers in the Doodlebug "Booville" collection. I used a Fishtail Flag die to cut around my image. I often use a flag die as they are long and skinny and hey..... you get more than 1 use out of them!
I love that the "Halloween Magic" set comes with so many possibilities with all the images and sentiments. I know I'll be using it again soon for another card! I mean look at that adorable little witch and that pumpkin stack!
